It is an ancient mule track connecting with the Val di Vara. From the road that leads to the cemetery of Volastra, a path begins which initially follows the 506:
Then through chestnut woods it climbs along the south-east side of Mount Le Croci and the south side of Mount Capri. Near the Costa Galera pass it merges with path 502 up to the saddle of Monte Galera, crossing the High Route of the Cinque Terre.
