LEMMEN

Lemmen is a very small village located under the Colle del Telegrafo, along the trekking path 593 that leads to Riomaggiore, from which it is 2 km away. The very few stone houses with the little church of San Bernardo are located at 408 meters above sea level, between the Mediterranean scrub, an oak forest and the sea with the Canneto beach.

Silence and quiet are Lemmen, with the terraces of the small Stella di Lemmen farm, founded in 2015, with grape varieties linked to organic farming.

Tradition has it that the first inhabitants of Riomaggiore came from Lemmen, a group of Greek exiles, fleeing the persecution of the Byzantine emperor Leo III the Isaurian.
