PARKING IN PORTOVENERE



The availability of parking spaces in Portovenere is limited. If you are not a guest of any accommodation facility, the parking spaces available are those outside the historic center in the paid stalls, delimited by the blue stripes, on the side of the road.

The historic center from Piazza Bastreri towards the church of San Pietro is a limited traffic area (ZTL).

The high season runs from the first Saturday in March to the penultimate Sunday in October. During this period, parking is paid from 8.00 to 21.00, with a cost that varies between € 2 and € 3 per hour.

In the low season, however, parking is paid from 8.00 to 19.00, with a cost of € 1.50 per hour in the area closest to the center, while it is free in the rest of the areas.

In any case, it is not easy to find a parking space in high season, it is advisable to arrive early, always bearing in mind that it will be necessary to walk a little from the car to the village.

There are four paid parking areas in Portovenere:

  • Zone P1 along Via Olivo
    • It is the area closest to the center and therefore the most expensive, located between the marina and the Arenella beach, along Via Olivo, a stretch of road of 400 meters, with about 160 seats.
    - Unguarded parking
    - Three places reserved for the disabled
    - Cost: € 3 per hour in high season, € 1.5 per hour the rest of the year.
    - Distance from Piazza Bastreri: between 100 and 500 meters.

  • Zone P2 near the Arenella beach
    •  The P2 car park is located near the seafront, an extension of the P1 car park, from the Arenella beach to the Second Traversa Olivo, near the Le Terrazze Beach & Pool plant, about 600 meters of road with about 170 spaces.
    - Unguarded parking
    - There are no places reserved for the disabled
    - Cost: € 2.5 per hour in high season, maximum daily rate € 25. € 1.5 per hour in low season, maximum daily rate € 5.
    - Distance from Piazza Bastreri: between 500 meters and 1.1 km.

  • Zone P3 up towards Salita Cavo and SP530
    •  The P3 car park is divided into two parts: one between the junction of Via Olivo with the Seconda Traversa Olivo towards the Salita Cavo, at the end of which the Golfo car park begins. The other part is located at the end of the Golfo car park, along the road, the SP530, a hilly road that after a roundabout descends to the intersection with Via Olivo near the Hotel Belvedere. In total it is about 1 km and 300 meters of road with about 200 places.
    - Unguarded parking
    - There are no places reserved for the disabled
    - Cost: € 2 per hour in high season, maximum daily rate € 20. Free parking in low season.
    - Distance from Piazza Bastreri: between 1.1 km and 1.8 km along the Cavo climb; between 300 meters and 1.7 km along the SP530, uphill.

  • Golfo car park, the farthest from the historic center, in Cavo, towards Le Grazie

    The Golfo Parking lot is located between the end of Via Olivo and the roundabout before the SP530, between the two parking lots in the P3 zone. In total it is 1 km of road, with about 400 spaces.
    - Unguarded parking
    - There are no places reserved for the disabled
    - Parking with pitches equipped for campers.
    - Distance from Piazza Bastreri: between 1.7 km and 1.9 km via the SP530, from the stairways that connect to the village or from the Cavo climb.
    - Cost: € 2 per hour in high season, maximum daily rate € 10. Free parking in low season.

    One last possibility to consider is parking in La Spezia and then take the bus to Portovenere. The ride takes about half an hour.
