WHICH ARE THE TOWNS OF THE CINQUE TERRE
Perhaps an obvious question, but not too much if you keep looking for the villages of the Cinque Terre, in the province of La Spezia. Here they are, from east to west:
Riomaggiore, Vernazza and Monterosso are "comuni", roughly equivalent to a township or municipality, while Manarola is a "frazione" (subdivision of a municipality in Italy, a small village or hamlet outside the main town) of Riomaggiore and Corniglia is a "frazione" of Vernazza.
The municipal area includes many other small frazioni.
For those wondering, Portovenere is NOT part of the Cinque Terre, although it appears in many souvenirs together to the Cinque Terre.
It is a wonderful town, but it is part of the Gulf of Poets, which extends from Portovenere to Lerici.
