WHAT TO SEE IN THE CINQUE TERRE

The Cinque Terre are not just trekking, sun and beaches. Walking through the five fishing villages you discover an architectural balance that reflects the history of these lands.

The colorful houses that fishermen looked for when returning from long days of work, the numerous religious buildings scattered among the houses, the Marian sanctuaries connected to each other by ancient paths.

Finally, the remains of castles and fortifications, erected by Genoa to counter the Saracen threat and the neighboring powers.

In all five villages it is possible to spend an entire day discovering these hidden treasures among the long stairways that connect the alleys. Among churches and religious buildings erected after Marian apparitions, oratories that testify to the social importance of Brotherhoods, even the cemeteries with poetic dedications for those who have left us.

Everything is poetry in the Cinque Terre.
