Where to swim in Riomaggiore. Riomaggiore beach

The beach at Riomaggiore is located east of the village. Past the tunnel station, then down to the small port, you need to go left following the only road beside the cliff, to reach the rocky beach, dominated by the Centro di Osservazioni Naturalistiche di Torre Guardiola.
The beach is quite extensive and very impressive. It is equipped with showers, but has no supervisory services and the rough sea can be dangerous, especially for the large stones on the shore.
Another fabulous beach, unreachable by land due to the unsafe path, now very dangerous, is the beach of Canneto, between Punta Castagna e Punta del Cavo. You can reach it only by sea and it has a natural cascade descending from the hills as a natural shower.
