THE ORATORY OF THE DISCIPLINATI OF SANTA CATERINA

In the center of the village, in the square of Largo Taragio, stands the oratory of the Disciplinati di Santa Caterina. Of eighteenth-century origin, it is a small building with a very deteriorated gabled façade where there is a simple portal surmounted by a niche occupied by a statue of the saint and a circular window.
The interior has a single room, with a frescoed ceiling from the 18th century, depicting the torture of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. There are nineteenth-century processional lights, gonfalons of the same period, wooden crucifixes of the sixteenth century and statues by an unknown artist.
At the rear of the oratory there is a panoramic terrace overlooking the sea.
